Twilight

I've been fooling around with my video editing software lately. I was thinking about how few hits I get on youtube with the videos I do have.

I decided to set a challenge for myself to create a video that would generate a LOT of views. How does one do this? Well probably putting boobies and porn in the tags, but that's too easy. And that's also a way to get horrible ratings for disappointed viewers..lol

SO

Gaunlet thrown down by myself...

I created a "fan video", i think you call it. Given the movie "Twilight" is a big ol' hit with the teens I picked a fairly obscure song (praying that the youtube censors don't flag this one like they have all my other videos. All of em!) and cut together clips. It took me all day to put this together because I had to download various clips and then spent time splicing and arrancing. Unfortunately I never did figure out how to get HD on youtube. But oh freakin well

enjoy. So far 15 hits. My goal is a million!

Christmas 2009

I also forgot to mention in this video, that the pendant i'm wearing was also a gift.

Enjoy! This is to make up for the lack of vlogs this year.

Sirens

Forgot to post this here but about a week or so again, yes in December, we had a tornado warning

This is what our sirens sound like when they go off

Light show of 08

Just some fun, been a long time since I posted here. I went to look at Christmas lights last night in my neighborhood and while the video is choppy and not well edited to boot but I just wanted to share. I'm pretty lucky to live right around the corner from this neighborhood, some of the houses go a litle above and beyond by having synced up light shows.

Wanderlust

I haven't posted here in awhile so I thought i'd share something I did last nite> Obviously it only has meaning to my family since it is old photographs but I wanted to collect the lot that I had - particularly if random shots they took of the countryside that would othrwise not be interesting, and pay a little tribute to my parents travel adventures of their youth.

They met, he was in the Air Force. So they saw the world. Europe, Africa, Asia, and today while they are quite settled and not apt to go on the road as much I'm always trying to encourage them to take a vacation somewhere. Because I always think of them as I did growing up. One word: Wanderlust. And when I think of travels to distant places I always think of my parents. I'm lucky through the years they stayed together and shared so many memories. So the first pics in the slides are when they were dating, sort of innocent how they had no idea the path their lives would take them on and all the places they would see outside of the small poor towns they grew up in.

I recommend anyone do this with old photos or slides you may have, it makes it more interesting for family to watch in this type of context.

Ode to the Road Trip

I took a day trip to Shreveport for some gambling. During the long stetches I would take a little video here and there, mostly testing my camera. When I got home I thought, why waste the footage? So I compiled it to be a sort of 'ode to the road'. Everyone flies because it's cheaper and quicker.

I wonder how the pioneers managed to get through some of those thick woods. How did they survive? What might take me 4 hours might literally take them months. I passed a sign written on a building that said something like "Bin laden i hope you burn in hell, you and all your beheaders". Oh yeah...I was hearing the tune of "Dueling Banjos"..lol

In the country your likely to see all kinds of things and all kinds of people at those rest stops.

But boring or not, long or not, it's a slice of Americana - hitting the open road. It's that feeling of a journey begun, where you never know what may happen or where you might go if you so chose to take a different route. The open sky, the wildflowers, the landscape, the monuments and markers and buildings you would have never seen taking a plane. And mostly, where your mind wanders to as you stare into the vast road that stretches out for endless miles

Another stormy night

These after midnight storms are really starting to irritate me. It's more common to receive the severe storms late afternoon after the hottest time of the day. Nothing like rolling out of bed to wonder if you need to spend the rest of the night in the bathtub.

People in my particular city are pissed because they chose not to put the sirens on while other places did and we were the ones with a lot of damage. Stupid stupid. I bet a lot of the rich people who live here are going to be at city counsel about that one.

KRAMER

I'm the official owner of a Betta fish. I haven't had a fish since I was 5. He's a gnarly looking guy with some jacked up looking fins and color, but despite his lack of physical beauty he's super neat. Why didn't I pick the big pretty blue fishes with the swirly fins and snazzy color?

Because dammit, this one just cried out...."Woman for the love of God, get me outta here"

He looks like all he's missing is a cigarette and a dark alley..lol Hopefully he makes it, I don't know how well that petstore cares for the fish. With them all stacked on top of eachother I kept wondering when the last time he ate was.

Now he's going to spend the remainder of his days with giant cat eyes gazing at him. And I can almost hear his praise of ..."Thanks lady".

My Amazingly Weird Cat

People just don't really believe me when I tell them.

video

This is the every night ritual on the sofa. Er, i just got out of the shower hence the robe, but happened to have the camera nearby. She wants me to rub the buddah. Sometimes it's funny when she falls asleep, and stretches out her hind legs out like a person lying in bed.

What can I say, she's one in a million

Snow: Round 2

Being this is my VLOG - i decided to post this here too. This is the second round of march snow we got this month. And that is very very rare in North texas (not so much snow, abiet we don't get it often, but snow in March). The last time I remember it snowing in march was in 1990ish. Some areas received rain, other areas just 15 minutes down the road got 9 inches of snow. It was the most bizarre storm that rolled through.

And the music I chose was for my mom. Earlier she was looking out her window feeling guilty at the hungry birds sitting on the fence, because she ran out of birdseed.

Snow?

Yes, a snowstorm last nite blew in and left severa inches. Which unfortunately melted away for the most part this morning as the high was in the 60's F.

So i decided to just film my drive to and fro work. Yes, it really IS that boring. I spend half my life in traffic it seems. Nothing but roads miles ahead
